decent weekend (w/ pics) |
|
well this has been a pretty good weekend. Saturday me and a buddy went out hunting and ended up with 4 mallards. Unfortunately 3 of those were hens (two were shot in first 10 min of shooting light). I had two more opportunities at full cupped and landing mallard hens but i didnt want to be the one who took our last "ooops" hen. Then we had a flock work and i dropped a drake out of there. We called it a day at around 1030. We showed up at 430, got to our spot and then had some guys set up not 150 yds from us, we went and talked to them and it was obvious they werent moving (STUPID PEOPLE PISS ME OFF BTW). But we got 4 birds and they got 0 on the day im pretty sure
Sunday we went fly fishing, we got skunked but it was still fun. Also the picture of the bufflehead drakes were from about 2 weeks ago. So regarless, heres a few pics from the last month

Nice. I don't blame you for passing on the other hens - I would have, too. It's always good to allow a space in the "oops" column.

Are you left handed? I just noticed the gun sitting there and thought something looked funny there.

yep left handed benelli M2.
oh and the hens or bufflehead werent really targetted. But when you get up at 2 to get there at 420 to beat the crowd who then moves in on your pond anyways...... you dont want to leave empty handed. First two were down in 10 minutes and i passed on 2 others and didnt shoot at some birds because we couldnt make an ID
