Buckwheat.

Buckwheat is a good foodplot crop to plant for an all-purpose food source. I plant about five acres per year, it's cheap, birds and deer both love it, and my honeybees meke alot of honey off it. Buckwheat is also very adaptive and will take the sometimes harsh dry weather of summer very well.
